Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME gTLD is the single TLD supposed to be for personal websites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At first, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to obtain john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level domains remained operational.

Through our company, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer code from the current registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no particular prerequisites on who can secure a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
